Frequently asked questions
Everything you're wondering (and afraid to ask)
If your question isn't here, just send a message — asking questions is free, always.
How do I know if therapy is right for me?
If something in your life feels harder than it should — sleep, relationships, motivation, worry — that's reason enough. You don't need a crisis or a diagnosis to benefit. The first session is simply a conversation to see if we're a good fit, with no obligation to continue.
What happens in the first session?
We talk. You share as much or as little as you're comfortable with, I'll ask a few gentle questions about what brings you in, and together we sketch what progress would look like for you. Most people say it feels far more natural than they expected.
Is everything I share confidential?
Yes. Everything you share is protected by law and professional ethics. The rare exceptions — risk of serious harm to yourself or others — are explained clearly in your intake paperwork before we ever begin.
Do you accept insurance?
I'm an out-of-network provider, and I provide monthly superbills you can submit to your insurer for reimbursement — many PPO plans cover 50–80% of the fee. A limited number of sliding-scale spots are also available.
How long does therapy take?
It depends on your goals. Some people feel meaningfully better in 8–12 sessions; others value longer-term support. We review progress together regularly, and you're always in control of the pace.
Do you offer online sessions?
Yes — secure, HIPAA-compliant video sessions are available to anyone in Texas. Many clients mix in-person and online visits depending on their week.
